Living and Gardening Around Chatham, New Jersey

When non-gardening people move, they ask easy-to-answer questions such as, how are the local schools? For gardening people, moving is much more complicated by questions such as, how are the local nurseries?

In brief, Chatham, New Jersey and nearby commuter towns (such as Maplewood, Millburn, Short Hills, Summit, Green Village, Madison, Morristown, New Providence, and Berkley Heights) are great places for gardeners. I recently visited my father in another community and noticed how few nurseries were present. Further, while the homes and the community were attractive, I didn't drive by any home gardens that made me want to stop my car and take a second look. This made me appreciate all of the great gardening resources that I have at home.

For those who are nearby and/or for those gardeners who are thinking of moving here, here's the lay of the land:

Trees and shrubs improve soil and water conservation, store carbon, moderate local climate by providing shade, regulate temperature extremes, increase wildlife habitat and improve the land's capacity to adapt to climate change. These are all benefits forests and shrubs offer the environment and in turn, us.

In addition to having proper tools and equipment, it helps to use thick gloves and safety glasses to protect your hands and eyes from the chips and debris. Also, remember to use a helmet to avoid any head injuries. Have a professional Tree Company to help you.

Pruning helps to save a tree instead of it having to be removed. Call the nearest Tree Branch Removal Company

You can do the pruning yourself if the branches are near enough to the ground for you to be able to reach them. (Obviously, any time you remove a branch higher than your head, you should be wearing a safety helmet.) For out-of-reach or oversized branches, it’s better to have a certified arborist do the job. Avoid fly-by-night tree trimmers who often damage trees rather than helping them.

Excellent work. Very efficient. Took off a very large Oak Tree limb that was threatening to come in one of my windows. Also took down a 20 plus years Oak Tree with roots growing under my property. The crew worked well as a team. Very smooth operation.

We were so pleased by Cheyenne's tree removal of our dead tree. The crew arrived prepared and moved quickly to take down the tree safely, with absolutely no disruption to our day! Impressive!
