This past weekend, we had our first frost, so I started to dig up the dahlia tubers for winter storage. I finished the tubers on Goldberry Hill and the Front Border (pictured), but still need to get the ones in the Cutting and Rose Gardens. For a full how-to, read my prior post, "How to Store Dahlia Tubers for Winter."

I love Dahlias, but lost mine last year when I had a hospital stay and didn't get them pulled before the freeze. (No one else was willing to pull them either - darn!)
Those lovely flowers are the most prolific bloomers! I hope to get some more next spring.
that is one pile of Dahlias! And you say you have more to dig up? Wow.
Thank goodness I don't have to dig up bulbs for the Winter. One of the joys of living in the South. If I had tp dig up bulbs...I would never plant them. Hard enough keeping up with the garden as it is! So I pat you on the back!
You are so industrious. I don't know if I would have the patience to dig them all up. This is called dedication to dahlias. But then, The dahlia bug hasn't bitten me.
To write a beautiful post it is very important to write a beautiful container and have prepared a very good design and I got a lot of inspiration from your post and I would also like to post like you in my life.
