It's always interesting to see what attracts various butterflies in gardens across the country. Phlox is not one of the most visited in my garden, but I've seen swallowtails on them.
Today I saw both a Spicebush Swallowtail and a Gulf Fritillary visiting something the dog left. I was glad not to have a camera in my hand.
My photos of the Spicebush Swallowtail are blurry. He kept fluttering his wings and then would move to another bloom. My lantana seems to be a favorite.
Love the pictures of the garden denizens.

The Fennel in my garden seems to be the host for the Spicebush Swallowtail...I love seeing all the butterflies this time of year.

ReplyDeleteJanet,
ReplyDeleteI have so many blurry butterfly photos and others where they move to the far side of the flower, so it's extra satisfying when you get one that works.
